When Will Christ Return to the Earth?

It is natural for us to want to know what tomorrow will bring or what the future holds. This is especially so when it comes to predictions about the end of the world, return of Christ or apocalypse. In times past there have been many self-proclaimed prophets announcing the end of the world or some other earth-shaking event. When you look up this topic in Wikipedia, you will find an incredibly long list of such predictions, none of which took place.

According to Scripture there is a millennial week of seven days (seven thousand years) from Adam until the end of the seventh millennial reign that occurs under the rule of Jesus Christ.

The earth was created in six days according to the Genesis account.

It is a scriptural fact that God counts one day as 1000 years prophetically.

Peter 3:8 (KJV) But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

God created the heavens and the earth in seven days (Gen 2:2). Seven days is a prophetic week 7000 years.

Scripture reveals that since God created the world in six days and rested on the seventh day (Genesis 2:1-3), that God has a 6,000-year plan for man followed by a 1,000-year reign by Jesus Christ (Revelation 20:4).

Since the seventh day of the week symbolizes 1,000 years of peace under the rule of Jesus Christ, the first six days of the week represent 6,000 years in which man has been allowed to govern himself and work out his own ideas and plans.

We are near the end of the 6000 years and near the end of 2000 years since Christ was here on earth, so His return is eminent.

Christ said that the time of His return is not known.

Matthew 24:36 (KJV) But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.

Nevertheless, we can deduce the approximate time of His return based on some scriptures.
